Biography
TYLER PENTLAND (b. 1982, Penticton, BC Canada) lives and works in Calgary, AB. He graduated with a Diploma of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia in 2002 and a Bachelor of Design from Emily Carr University in 2005. In 2017 he competed nationally in Art Battle Canada and placed 1st as well curated his first exhibition “ Mediation on Paper “ which went on to sell out.
Artist Statement
I use various mediums to create texture & depth similar to the surface of a tree. The tree(s) that I paint remind me we have more in common than we might acknowledge. All keepers of our own journey, capable of creating shelter, giving life & trying to reach for the sunshine in ours lives.
